Nyborg Destilleri Aftenrødme Vintage 2017 – Single Malt Whisky 56,8% (Isle of Fionia)

A rare Danish single malt with warmth, depth and adventure in the glass. Aftenrødme Vintage 2017 is an uncompromising and intense release from Nyborg Destilleri – created for the whisky lover who dares to go new ways. A limited edition of just 94 bottles, each bottle contains the essence of Isle of Fionia’s wild soul.

The whisky was distilled in March 2017 and bottled in August 2025 after maturation in a 1st fill oloroso sherry butt. The cask has given the whisky a deep amber color and a complex aroma where sweetness, spice and heat come together. Bottled at full cask strength of 56.8%, without chill filtration and with natural color – just as true single malt should be.

Evening Blush is not for the faint-hearted. It’s a whisky for the adventurer, for curious taste buds and for the collector who wants something unique. Intense but elegant. Powerful but balanced. A whisky that lingers – long after the sun has set.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Rich and deep with dark raisins, figs and prunes. Layers of dark chocolate, orange peel and lightly roasted nuts from the oloroso cask add depth and warmth.

Flavor: Intense and warm with dried fruit, spicy oak and hints of caramel and cinnamon. A beautiful balance between sweetness and strength, with the alcohol lifting the flavor without dominating.

Finish: Long and complex – warm, deep and with a slightly smoky edge. Like a sunset slowly fading into the horizon.

The history of the house

Nyborg Destilleri is located in the heart of Funen in a historic building that used to house a freight train workshop. For over 125 years, the place was characterized by industry and movement – today it is filled with craftsmanship, passion and the smell of malt and oak.

The distillery works organically and sustainably with grain grown a few kilometers from the distillery. Many of the casks come from 150-200 year old Funen trees, giving the whisky a unique local anchorage and character.

Aftenrødme Vintage 2017 is part of the Isle of Fionia Adventurous Spirit series– whiskies without compromise, where the journey is the destination and each bottling is a new adventure.
