A rare Danish single malt with depth, calm and strength. “Stilhed i Stormen” is an exclusive 10 year old single malt whisky from Nyborg Destilleri – created at a pace where time is allowed to work. Only 233 bottles have been bottled of this limited edition, and each bottle is a testament to patience, craftsmanship and uncompromising quality.

The whisky has matured for a full 10 years on an exclusive PX sherry butt, giving it an intense, deep and elegant character. This is a powerful yet balanced whisky, bottled at natural cask strength of 58.2%, without cold filtration and with natural color. A whisky for connoisseurs, collectors and anyone looking for something out of the ordinary.

“Stillness in the Storm” is created in contrast to a world in constant motion. While everything else is accelerating, this whisky has been allowed to develop in peace and quiet – and you can taste it in every drop.

Tasting notes

Nose: Rich and inviting with raisins, vanilla and ripe plums. Then layers of licorice, dried fruit, cocoa and prunes open up.

Flavor: Intense and complex. Licorice at the forefront, followed by dried oranges, spiced Christmas cake and sweet raisins with an elegant hint of cocoa.

Finish: Long and persistent with raisins, dried fruit and ripe plums, slowly rounding into a warm and pleasant finish.

The history of the house

Nyborg Destilleri is located in the center of Nyborg on Funen in a historic building that previously housed a freight train workshop for more than 125 years. Today, the raw and authentic setting forms the basis for a modern Danish distillery with a focus on quality, adventure and craftsmanship.

The distillery works with strong organic and local roots. Most of the barley is grown in fields less than two kilometers from the distillery, and many casks are made from wood from 150-200 year old Funen trees. The philosophy is clear: It’s not about the destination – it’s about the journey.
