Alain Girard & Fils Sancerre 2023 – Classic Sauvignon Blanc from the heart of the Loire

Alain Girard & Fils Sancerre 2023 is the epitome of classic, mineral and crisp Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley. An authentic Sancerre with freshness, precision and terroir in focus – made on the south-facing slopes around Veaugues, where calcareous soil and cool climate produce wines with supple acidity and aromatic intensity.

The 2023 vintage is lively and elegant, with a pure fruit profile and the characteristic chalky minerality that has made Sancerre world famous. It’s a wine that exudes craftsmanship and family heritage – perfect as an accompaniment to seafood, fish, goat cheese or simply as a cool glass on the terrace.

With 9 hectares planted with Sauvignon Blanc, the Girard family cultivates their most important grape with respect for tradition and terroir. The subsoil of white limestone with high clay content ensures optimal drainage and concentration in the grapes, resulting in a wine with both nerve and finesse.

The story behind Alain Girard & Fils

Domaine des Brosses has characterized the hilly Loire landscape since 1875. In 1973, Alain Girard took over the estate and carried out extensive modernization. In 2007, he passed the baton to his sons, Anthony and Nicolas, who continue to run the vineyard with respect for the family traditions and an eye for quality and sustainability.

The estate has 11 hectares of vineyards – 9 with Sauvignon Blanc and 2 with Pinot Noir – and produces around 70,000 bottles annually. The combination of south-facing fields, chalky soil and family experience creates wines that faithfully reflect the unique terroir of Sancerre.
