Alpha Omega Proprietary Red Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 – Rutherford Napa Valley

Alpha Omega Proprietary Red 2017 is an impressive Bordeaux-inspired red wine from the prestigious Napa Valley in California. Created with a focus on depth, structure and elegance, the wine represents Alpha Omega’s approach to combining powerful Napa fruit with classic European balance.

This wine is a carefully crafted blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, which provides structure, concentration and intense fruit. Merlot adds roundness and soft texture, while Cabernet Franc contributes aromatic complexity. Petit Verdot adds color, depth and extra structure.

The grapes come from a number of excellent vineyards in Napa Valley. The elevation and variation in terroir makes for a complex wine with many layers. Sites such as Atlas Peak, Howell Mountain and Spring Mountain contribute concentration and structure, while Coombsville and St. Helena provide fruit, elegance and balance.

After fermentation, the wine is aged for 20 months in French oak barrels. A full 75% of the barrels are new, giving the wine deep notes of spice, vanilla and chocolate. At the same time, the long aging provides a beautiful integration between fruit, tannins and barrel.

The result is a powerful and refined Napa Valley wine with great complexity and long ageing potential. It pairs perfectly with hearty dishes such as beef, lamb or mature cheeses.
