History of the house

Castello Banfi was founded in 1978 and is located near Montalcino in Tuscany. The estate has around 3,000 hectares, of which approximately 1,000 hectares are planted with vines. The winery is known for its modern and technologically advanced winery – one of the most innovative in Europe – and its historic 11th-century fortress, which today serves as a luxury restaurant.

Banfi has made an international name for itself over the years, winning the title of “Best Italian Winery” at Vinitaly 12 times. The combination of tradition, innovation and uncompromising quality makes Banfi one of Italy’s most respected names.
