Château de Ferrand Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé 2017

A wine of elegance, power, and finesse

Experience the essence of Saint-Émilion with Château de Ferrand 2017 – a Grand Cru Classé from one of Bordeaux’s most esteemed estates. The wine combines intensity, balance, and finesse in a harmonious blend of Merlot (86%), Cabernet Franc (7%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (7%). The result is a wine that both impresses the connoisseur and delights the curious wine lover.

Taste and Character

Château de Ferrand 2017 opens with an elegant bouquet of ripe berries, flowers, and spices. On the palate, it begins clean and precise, before the fruit unfolds with depth and power. The ripe berries add richness, while the Cabernet Franc brings freshness and vibrancy.
The finish is silky, round, and persistent – a wine with both strength and grace, perfect for gastronomic experiences or as a refined companion to a cozy evening.

A Vintage Shaped by Nature’s Forces

2017 was a challenging year in Bordeaux. Yet for Château de Ferrand, it turned into a success. The estate’s elevated position on the Saint-Hippolyte plateau protected the vines from frost and ensured a stable growing season.
Spring was mild, summer was dry, and the harvest came early. The grapes were small but incredibly concentrated. Merlot was harvested between September 25 and October 3, followed shortly after by Cabernet Franc. The result was fruit with intense aromas and outstanding balance.

The Estate’s History

Château de Ferrand dates back to the 18th century and is beautifully situated on the renowned Saint-Hippolyte plateau in Saint-Émilion. Today, the estate is owned by the Baron Bich family, known for their passion for quality and respect for tradition.
The clay- and limestone-rich soils lend the wines a unique minerality and freshness that have earned Ferrand international acclaim. Combining classical craftsmanship with modern precision, Château de Ferrand stands as a true jewel of Bordeaux.
