Château de Ferrand Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé 2017

A powerful and elegant Bordeaux that elevates any wine experience

Discover one of Saint-Émilion’s most coveted treasures: Château de Ferrand Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé 2017 – a wine that combines great personality, depth and exquisite finesse. This vintage is for those looking for a Bordeaux with character, balance and classic French elegance. Perfect for both the dedicated wine enthusiast and the curious wine lover who wants to explore the best of Bordeaux.

The wine is made from Merlot (86%), Cabernet Franc (7%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (7%). A blend that offers a silky smooth structure, intense fruit and an aromatic complexity that makes it an ideal choice for gastronomy as well as pure enjoyment.

A vintage of rare concentration and natural strength

2017 was a year of challenges – but also a year where the high altitude soils of Château de Ferrand showed their strength. The natural protection from frost on the Saint-Hippolyte plateau produced top quality grapes: small, dense and full of energy and aroma.

The spring was mild, the summer dry, and the harvest took place early. The result was a wine of remarkable intensity, great structure and a freshness that lifts every sip.

With its combination of ripe fruit, vibrant acidity and rounded tannins, Château de Ferrand 2017 is a wine that can be enjoyed now and cellared with great pleasure.

Tasting notes

Aroma: A complex bouquet with floral notes, ripe red berries, subtle spice and a touch of freshness from Cabernet Franc.

Taste: Full-bodied, rounded and harmonious. Layers upon layers of juicy berries, subtle spice and a persistent, silky finish.

The history of the house

Founded in the early 1700s, Château de Ferrand sits majestically on the famous Saint-Hippolyte plateau in Saint-Émilion. Today, the château is owned by the Baron Bich family who, with great respect for tradition and uncompromising dedication to quality, have brought Ferrand into the modern wine world.

The mineral-rich clay and limestone soils give the wines their characteristic freshness and finesse – and secure Château de Ferrand’s place as one of the most recognized Grand Cru Classé producers in the region.
