Tasting notes

Nose: Bright, energetic and inviting. Fresh grassy notes, citrus fruit and a hint of spicy oak give it life and depth.

Taste: Elegant and harmonious. Clean, crisp citrus nuances combined with natural sweetness and soft, spicy oak notes from the cask. A beautifully balanced expression from start to finish.

Finish: Long, soft and balanced. Grainy malt, slightly gristy sweetness and a purity that lingers and leaves you wanting another dram.

The story of Glencadam

Glencadam Distillery opened its doors in 1825 – just one year after large-scale distilling was legalized in Scotland. The distillery sits peacefully on the outskirts of the historic town of Brechin in the Angus region, where pure spring water from the Unthank Hills has been at the heart of production since the beginning.

One of Glencadam’s most distinctive features is their unusual pot stills with upward-facing lie pipes at a 15 degree angle. This unique technique lifts the distillate and creates the distinctive light and delicate flavor profile that Glencadam is known for around the world.

For almost 200 years, the distillery has stuck to its traditional methods – and the result is single malt whisky with authenticity, finesse and a purity that is rare today.
