About the history of Glenfarclas

Glenfarclas was founded in 1836 and has been family owned since 1865 when the Grant family took over the distillery. Through six generations, the family has maintained traditional production methods, including direct fired copper pot stills and long ageing in sherry casks. This has made Glenfarclas one of the world’s most respected distilleries for sherry matured single malt whisky.
