Only 60 bottles were bottled from this one cask – a true collector’s item and a whisky experience that very few get the opportunity to taste.

This Glenfarclas was distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2018 directly from the cask without chill filtration and without the addition of color. The result is an authentic and uncompromising Highland single malt whisky that showcases Glenfarclas’ classic sherry style in its most concentrated and honest form.

With a natural cask strength of 57.6%, the whisky delivers power, depth and complexity – just as the Family Casks range is known for among whisky enthusiasts around the world.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Deep and intense with notes of dark sherry, raisins, dried figs and dates. Distinct layers of nuts, chocolate, spices and polished oak.

Flavor: Rich and oily mouthfeel. Powerful sherry influence with dark fruit, caramel, cocoa and warm spices. The alcohol strength gives structure and depth without overpowering the balance.

Finish: Long, warm and persistent with sherry, oak, spice and an elegant bittersweet finish.

History of the house

Glenfarclas is one of Scotland’s few remaining family-owned distilleries and has been owned by the Grant family since 1865. The distillery is known for its traditional open fire distillation and its consistent use of sherry casks.
