Tasting notes

The history of the house

Glenfarclas is one of the few remaining Scottish distilleries that is still family owned. Since 1865, the distillery has been in the hands of the Grant family, when John Grant – originally a cattle farmer – bought Recherlich Farm and Glenfarclas Distillery for just £511.

Today, six generations of whisky craftsmanship are behind every bottle. Glenfarclas is known for its traditional production methods, direct heated copper boilers and uncompromising focus on quality and sherry maturation.
