Graham’s 40 Year Old Tawny Port – A Masterpiece Shaped by Time

There are port wines – and then there is Graham’s 40 Year Old Tawny Port. This enchanting wine is the culmination of four decades of patience, craftsmanship, and passion. Every drop tells a story of time passing, of the quiet breath of wood in the old casks, and of Graham’s uncompromising pursuit of perfection.

A Masterpiece in the Glass

After more than 40 years maturing in oak casks at Graham’s historic Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia, this tawny port has evolved into something truly extraordinary. Its warm amber hue recalls sunsets over the Douro Valley, while the aroma unfolds in layers of dried fruit, roasted nuts, caramel, and a hint of dark chocolate.
The palate is silky smooth and complex – a mesmerizing balance of sweetness, spice, and freshness. The finish is long, elegant, and seemingly endless, echoing the many years spent in cask.

Graham’s – A House Built on Tradition and Passion

The story of W. & J. Graham’s began in 1820, when Scottish brothers William and John Graham received 27 barrels of port wine as payment for a debt. This marked the beginning of a wine empire that has since become synonymous with quality, elegance, and timeless craftsmanship.

Today, Graham’s is owned by the Symington family, who have been growing grapes and producing port wine in the Douro Valley for five generations. Their knowledge and passion for the terroir and traditional methods ensure that Graham’s remains among the world’s most respected port houses.

Graham’s owns some of the finest vineyards in the Douro Valley – all classified as “A” grade – and combines traditional practices, such as foot-treading grapes in lagares, with modern techniques. The result is port wines of depth, balance, and character – crafted to be remembered.
