The whisky is bottled at 46% alcohol and, as always with Springbank, is neither chill-filtered nor caramel colored. This edition is bottled in just 261 bottles, making it an extremely rare and sought-after whisky on the market.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Dark chocolate, demerara sugar, Christmas cake and rope, followed by roasted almonds and burnt oak.

Taste: Creamy and rich with notes of raisin bread, figs, vanilla and Brazil nuts, rounded off by subtle hints of smoke.

Finish: Long and elegant with warm spicy sweetness, light oak and a subtle, lingering smoke finish.

History of the house

The Springbank distillery in Campbeltown is known and loved the world over for its uncompromising approach to whisky production. Everything is done in-house – from malting the barley to distilling and bottling – which is a rarity in modern whisky production. The distillery produces three different styles: Springbank with light peat smoke and unique 2.5 times distillation, Longrow which is heavily smoked and double distilled, and Hazelburn which is unsmoked and triple distilled.

The annual production is around 175,000 liters, split approximately 80% Springbank, 10% Longrow and 10% Hazelburn. This limited production, combined with an unwavering focus on quality, has earned Springbank an almost legendary cult status among whisky enthusiasts worldwide.
