Founded in 1881, Bunnahabhain Distillery is spectacularly located at the mouth of the Margadale River. The remoteness and maritime influence have helped shape the distillery’s distinctive style – often less smoky than many other Islay whiskies, but with plenty of elegance, richness and depth.

This 25-year-old bottling is sherried, which gives the whisky its warm, dark and sophisticated character. It is bottled at 46.3%, which preserves both structure and intensity without overpowering the fine nuances that only long ageing can produce.

Tasting notes

Nose: Inviting and rich with sweet caramel-like aromas, dried fruit and deep sherry notes. Oak, polished leather and a hint of nuts add complexity and warmth.

Flavor: Rich and creamy with notes of sweet berries, butterscotch, roasted nuts and a rich malt base. The depth of the sherry melds with soft spices and elegant oak.

Finish: Soft and slightly dry with lingering sugar and oak notes. Nuts and malt return in a long, harmonious and well-balanced echo.
