Choosing an entire cask from Hampden Estate is a rare opportunity. That makes this rum extra interesting. It’s based on the HLCF brand, which stands for Hampden Light Continental Flavoured. The ester content is 400-600 gr/HLPA. This gives an intense, fruity and characterful style.

Production follows Hampden’s classic methods. A unique blend of molasses, dunder, muck and sugar cane juice is used. Fermentation lasts up to 7 days. This creates the well-known Jamaican “funk” and an impressive complexity.

Aging takes place in a tropical climate at the distillery. This allows for faster development and greater depth. In addition, the rum is aged for 2 years in sherry casks from Bodegas Fundador. This adds notes of dried fruit, nuts and spice.

The rum is bottled at full cask strength of 64.3%. This gives maximum intensity and concentration. No compromises here – just pure Hampden style.
