The history of the house

Jean Fillioux Cognac is a family-owned house, founded in 1880, with 25 hectares of vineyards located in the absolute best area for cognac: Grande Champagne. The residence, La Poyade, is located in the middle of the so-called “Golden Triangle” between Verrières, Angeac-Champagne and Juillac-Le Coq – a terroir known for its finesse and ageing potential.

Today, Pascal Fillioux, the fifth generation after founder Honoré Fillioux, is in charge of production. As a recognized master blender, he is responsible for the entire process – from the grape harvest to the final bottling. The house style is consistent: floral, fruity, complex, elegant and powerful. Once you taste Jean Fillioux, you recognize the signature again.

Jean Fillioux has achieved international recognition. Norwegian master blender Jon Bertelsen highlights the house as the best he has ever tasted, and the house’s Très Vieux has been named the world’s best brandy by Decanter and the best cognac in the world in its price range by spirits journalist Paul Pacult.
