Lavau Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2024 – A full-bodied and elegant red wine from the Rhône

Lavau Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2024 is an impressive French red wine in which sun-ripened fruit, warm spices, and elegant body come together in perfect harmony. A wine with both power and finesse from one of the Southern Rhône’s most famous wine regions.

The wine is made from 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre. The grapes come from old vines on sandy soils in the northern part of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This is where the wine derives its beautiful balance between intensity, freshness, and a soft structure.

A French red wine with depth and character

After harvest, the grapes undergo a long maceration period of about 30 days. The wine is then aged for 12 months. Half is aged in stainless steel tanks, while the rest is aged in large, previously used oak barrels.

The result is a harmonious Châteauneuf-du-Pape where ripe fruit takes center stage. The barrels contribute subtle spice and added depth.

Perfect for fine dining

Lavau Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2024 is an obvious choice for leg of lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, and game. It’s also excellent with slow-cooked dishes featuring mushrooms and fresh herbs.

Serve the wine at 17–18 degrees. It benefits from being decanted for about an hour to allow its many flavor nuances to unfold.

Maison Lavau – Family Traditions from the Rhône

The story of the Lavau family began in Bordeaux in the 1800s. In the 1960s, the family settled in the Rhône Valley, where Jean-Guy Lavau founded the winery in 1965.

Today, Maison Lavau is run by brothers Benoît and Frédéric Lavau. They carry on the family’s passion for the region’s grapes and terroir. The estate is known for its distinctive wines from Gigondas, Vacqueyras, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, among others.
