Maison Lavau Côtes du Rhône 2024 – juicy, spicy and irresistible Rhône charm

Maison Lavau Côtes du Rhône 2024 is the epitome of southern French coziness in a glass. It’s a juicy and fruity Rhône wine with lots of charm, soft tannins and warm spices – a wine that goes equally well with a barbecue or a cozy dinner with friends and family.

The grapes come from selected vineyards in the southern Rhône, from Montélimar to Nîmes, where the sun ripens Grenache and Syrah perfectly. The clay and limestone soils give the wine freshness, structure and the classic Rhône character of ripe fruit and spicy depth.

The wine is made from 60% Grenache Noir and 40% Syrah. After a cool pre-fermentation to preserve the fresh aromas, the wine is fermented in temperature-controlled tanks for approximately 15 days. The result is a vibrant and harmonious wine with lots of fruit and a silky smooth mouthfeel.

The wine is aged exclusively in tank to preserve the wine’s juicy style and fresh berry notes. This makes Maison Lavau Côtes du Rhône 2021 incredibly easy to enjoy – both on its own and with food.

This is the kind of wine that makes you want to pour a second glass. Perfect for grilled meats, pizza, tapas, pasta dishes and classic everyday dishes with lots of flavor.

Tasting notes

Fresh raspberries, blackcurrants and ripe red fruits with a hint of southern French spices. The taste is round, juicy and soft with lots of berry fruit, a slightly spicy character and a fresh finish that makes the wine incredibly easy to drink.

The history of the house

Maison Lavau traces its roots back to Saint-Émilion in the 1800s, where the family’s passion for wine began. Later, the adventure continued in Tunisia, where René Lavau and his son built the country’s largest wine production.

In 1965, Maison Lavau was founded in the Rhône Valley by Jean-Guy Lavau and Anne-Marie Lavau. Today, the house is run by Frédéric and Benoît Lavau, who have continued the family’s love of Rhône wines and terroir. With its own vineyards and collaborations with top producers such as Château Maucoil in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Maison Lavau is now a respected name in the Rhône.
