Le Saint-Estèphe de Montrose Saint-Estèphe 2011

Le Saint-Estèphe de Montrose 2011 is an elegant and classic Bordeaux from the famous Château Montrose in Saint-Estèphe. The wine offers an authentic insight into the style and terroir of the house. It is made with the same serious approach to quality as the château’s great wines. The result is a wine with structure, balance and classic Médoc character.

Saint-Estèphe is known for its powerful wines with great depth and longevity. Here, the gravelly soil and cool proximity to the Gironde River contribute to wines of great complexity. Le Saint-Estèphe de Montrose shows this character in a more accessible and early drinking style.

The wine is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Merlot provides roundness and fullness of flavor. Cabernet Sauvignon contributes structure, tannins and classic Bordeaux character. Together they create a wine with a great balance of fruit, structure and elegance.

Le Saint-Estèphe de Montrose is produced in limited quantities and makes up about a third of the production from selected lots. The 2011 bottling produces a wine with ripe fruit, classic structure and a style that clearly reflects the Saint-Estèphe terroir.
