This Croftengea 7 Year Old Highland Single Malt from Loch Lomond Distillery is an intense and smoky whisky, bottled by independent bottler A.D. Rattray. The whisky is part of their acclaimed Cask Collection, which focuses on unique single cask bottlings with plenty of character.

Distilled in 2017 and matured for seven years in a single bourbon cask (#245), this whisky is powerful, complex and authentic. It is bottled at a full cask strength of 60%, resulting in a concentrated flavor experience with plenty of depth and intensity.

Croftengea is the heavily smoked style from Loch Lomond Distillery. This bottling combines smoke, citrus and fresh mint with warm cask notes from the bourbon cask. The result is a whisky where sweetness, smoke and spicy nuances merge into an exciting and dynamic dram.

Only 233 bottles have been bottled from this cask, making this release particularly interesting for collectors and whisky enthusiasts. The whisky is bottled without cold filtration and without the addition of color, so the natural character of the distillate is fully preserved.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Grilled meat, meadow hay and smoked peanut butter.

Flavor: Cool mint, ash, pink grapefruit and sweet barley.

Finish: Long and smoky with notes of lapsang souchong, pine and cedar.

History of the house

A.D.. Founded in 1868 by Andrew Dewar Rattray, Rattray began as a trading company importing wine, oil and luxury goods and trading in whisky. Over time, the company developed a strong expertise in selecting quality whisky.

Today, A.D. Rattray is known as one of Scotland’s most respected independent bottlers. They select special casks from distilleries all over Scotland and bottle them often at cask strength without cold filtration or added color. The philosophy is to present whisky in its most natural form.
