A standout vintage for connoisseurs and collectors: Macallan 1988 Vintage Speyside Single Malt Whisky, aged for 18 years and bottled as part of the highly sought-after Speymalt series by Gordon & Macphail. Here you get classic Macallan character united with the sherry cask’s deep warmth and silky complexity – a true Speyside single malt whisky with history and soul.

Distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2007 after 18 years in a sherry butt, this whisky shows an impressive balance of ripe fruit, spiced oak and creamy sweetness. When the casks are selected and bottled by Gordon & Macphail – one of Scotland’s most respected independent whisky houses – the experience is elevated even further. This Macallan 1988 is therefore not just a whisky, but a piece of liquid Scottish heritage.

The Story of Gordon & Macphail

Gordon & Macphail was founded in 1895 in Elgin, Morayshire – known as “The Whisky Capital of the World”. The town’s location close to Speyside, where the majority of Scotland’s malt whisky is produced, combined with the cool, damp climate along the River Lossie, creates ideal conditions for whisky maturation.

As an independent bottler, the house has built unique expertise over generations in selecting and maturing casks from Scotland’s most prestigious distilleries. With respect for traditional methods – dating back to the first official whisky licence in 1824 – Gordon & Macphail ensures that each bottling preserves malt whisky’s authentic character and quality.
