Geil's Chardonnay Bechtheim is an unusual Chardonnay, which offers a glass full of fine pineapple, almonds, tobacco notes and subtle wood. In the mouth it also shows a balance between the creaminess, the wood, beautiful fruit like orange, a little vanilla and the fine earthy undertones. Long, powerful finale. Aged in 500 liter tonneaux and influence from a small part of 225 liter barriques, results in great balance in the wine.

The philosophy at Geil is a consistent focus on quality. A high technical standard in production and a vanity in relation to the final end product. The focus is on immediate enjoyment and on emphasizing and protecting the generic character of the individual grapes.

Aromas of vineyard peach, apricot, pineapple, a touch of lime and orange, complex flavors with a fine acidity, slightly spicy, equally mineral, yet elegant and delicate. The playful elegance of crystal clear aromas can also be felt in the taste. It all remains juicy and balanced at all times. A typical Riesling from Bechtheim.

Weingut Geil Bechtheimer 2022
Riesling Spätlese

So incredibly delicately fruity, with spice and plenty of expression. In addition to the peach and apricot notes, the taste is full of minerals, full of finesse and a juicy interplay between fruity sweetness and refreshing acidity. Long and fine aftertaste. A natural talent that is only at the beginning of its development, but which is already so tasty. Sweetness can also be fantastically fine. The grapes for our Riesling Spätlese come from the Bechtheimer Geyersberg vineyard. The south-facing terraces, protected from frost, where our vines are grown, every year give rise to wine with special power, fruit and fullness.

A Legacy of Maritime Heritage
The name Pulteney is deeply rooted in Wick's history, which thrived during the fishing boom of the 19th century. Sir William Pulteney played a pivotal role in putting Wick on the map, transforming it into a bustling hub of herring fishing. As vessels, adorned with their glistening catches of silver darlings, filled the harbors, the courageous fishermen returned from weeks at sea, greeted by the warmth and tradition of their coastal home. They were rewarded not only with the fruits of their labor but also with the exquisite liquid gold that would soon become Old Pulteney.

Crafted by Nature
Since 1826, Pulteney Distillery has braved the elements, withstanding every challenge that nature and humanity could throw its way, including a 25-year prohibition. The distillery's resilience has fostered a unique connection to the spirit of Wick, making Old Pulteney a true reflection of its maritime surroundings. Distilled and matured in a location embraced by the sea, the whisky captures the essence of its environment, creating a distinct character that is both bold and refined.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: The aroma opens with a delightful medley of briny sea air, zesty citrus, and sweet vanilla. Subtle hints of heather and gentle spices weave through, inviting you to explore further.
  • Palate: On the palate, Old Pulteney reveals its true brilliance. The initial rush of maritime freshness unfolds into rich flavors of honey, dried fruit, and a touch of maltiness, enhanced by a kiss of oak. The smooth textures dance on your tongue, delivering a complex yet harmonious experience.
  • Finish: The finish is long and satisfying, echoing the sea with soft, lingering notes of salt and spice, reminiscent of the coastal breeze. Each sip leaves you longing for another.

The Perfect Addition to Your Collection

Embrace the maritime spirit and let this remarkable single malt transport you to the shores of Wick, where tradition and craftsmanship create an unforgettable experience.

Summary

Glenfarclas is one of the few remaining Scottish distilleries still family owned. Since 1865, the distillery has been in the hands of the same family: The Grants. John Grant was actually a cattle breeder when he bought Recherlich Farm and Glenfarclas Distillery in 1865 for £511. It is six generations of whiskey connoisseurship that benefits us consumers today.

Glenfarclas means "Valley of the Green Grass" in Gaelic, and the skilled Scots get the water used in the distillation from a small spring that springs from the beautiful and dramatic Ben Rinnes. The distillery is located at the foot of the heather-covered mountain, where the water springs up from the underlying granite when the winter snow melts. The combination of the very clean, soft water and the completely unique shape of the potstills used by Glenfarclas contributes to the distillery's unique Highland Single Malts.

Kilkerran Campbeltown
Glengyle Distillery

Michelle´s Glyngyle Ltd. are very proud to be continuing and adding to the great Campbeltown Distilling tradition and the choice of name reflect that.
Kilkerran is derived from the Gaelic ´Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain´ wich is the name of the original settlement where Saint Kieran had his religious cell and Campbeltown now stands. Kilkerran is thought to be a suitable name for a new Cambeltown Malt since it was unusual for the old Campbeltown distilleries to be called after a Glen, a custom more usually associated with the Speyside region.

In 2017, Mosgaard filled 7 sister casks which they had rebuilt from specially selected 30-40 year old Oloroso casks. The old original Sherry casks were renovated and rebuilt into 140 liter casks and filled with our New Spirit with the aim of making a very special series - where, unlike the small quarter cask casks we normally use, they could follow the whiskey's path for a little longer . Mosgaard's new series "7 Sisters Oloroso" is on the way. The casks are in our original and first small barrel warehouse, and have thus been part of the entire journey for Mosgaard Whisky.

The first "sister" is now 6 years old, and ready to meet the world - and every year from now on, Mosgaard will release one of the sister casks until the last cask is 12 years old - a completely unique series. As Mosgaard has some casks of very high quality which over the years will each give their own stamp on the whisky, and contribute to the first Mosgaard products in a series, which come with an indication of age.

The Oloroso Sherry cask is a classic sherry cask for whiskey aging, and was also where Mosgaard started, as their first whiskey was released in 2019 precisely from the Oloroso cask. Oloroso casks suit the style of our New Spirit very well, which is defined by sweetness, softness and especially fruity notes - and is highlighted by the aging in this particular type of sherry cask.

The special bottling "7 sisters 6 years" is bottled at 57%, which gives it a robust intensity that can remind a little of old Balsamico in strength and complexity, which meets a fruity acidity and mineral depth. It is an impressive and complex composition of aromas and flavors that shows that Oloroso aged Whiskey can do something about cask strength when it is made in old casks.

The first five Ping bottlings were created as part of a special anniversary selection to celebrate his 30-year business anniversary and 50th birthday. Now, ten years later, Ping X and Ping 11 have been selected to mark his impressive 40th anniversary.
Plantation Ping X is not just a rum – it’s a piece of history, a rare experience, and a must-have for any serious rum lover. If you’re looking for a rum that combines authenticity, rarity, and an unmatched tasting experience, this is it.
