Rozés rose port

Rozès was founded in 1855 in Bordeaux by M. Ostende Rozès. A few years later they started trading in port wine, for this trade and success one can thank the son Edmond Rozès. In 1938 it was established in Vila Nova de Gaia, and by this time it was already known for very n quality of port wine. The activities were stopped during World War II and in 1959 were restarted in Portugal. Until 1974, the business continued as a family business, after which it was sold to Pedro Domecq S.A., Luxembourg. In 1977 the room was taken over by Moet Hennesy S.A., and in 1999 Rozès Port was sold again - this time to the champagne company Vranken Monopole. This port wine is produced from the Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz grapes grown in the Douro in Portugal. It is a beautiful rosé port wine of high quality with eye-catching pink color with a faint ruby red tinge. The aroma is complex and delicate with notes of fresh pomegranates, cherries and other red fruits, the taste is fresh and beer soft all the way to the long and pleasant aftertaste. A beautiful and incredibly well-balanced port wine that is particularly suitable for frozen desserts and fruit, but completely unsurpassed when served chilled with a few ice cubes and a strip of orange peel as an aperitif. • 5 stars on
