A.H. Riise XO Founders Reserve No. 5 44.4% – Exclusive Superior Spirit Drink with historical depth

A.H. Riise XO Founders Reserve No. 5 44.4% is an intense and luxurious Superior Spirit Drink, created as a tribute to Albert Heinrich Riise and the proud tradition of the Danish West Indies. This exclusive edition in the Founders Reserve series combines power, sweetness and complexity in a full-bodied and character-rich experience for the discerning drinker.

If there is an absolute origin for the rum tradition, it must be found in the West Indies. Christopher Columbus brought sugar cane to the islands in 1493, and St. Croix – known as “The Garden of the West Indies” – proved ideal for cultivation. In the 1700s, the island became the center of sugarcane production in the Danish West Indies. From the sugar production came the molasses, which formed the basis for the distillation of a sweet and aromatic spirit.

XO Founders Reserve No. 5 is bottled at 44.4% alcohol and delivers a powerful, concentrated and silky smooth style. The high alcohol content provides structure and depth, but is elegantly integrated with a rounded and harmonious balance. An ideal Superior Spirit Drink for pure enjoyment by the glass – perfect as an aperitif after a good meal.

This bottling is known for its distinctive sweet profile combined with warm spices and distinct cask character. It is full-bodied, almost creamy in the mouth and develops nicely in the glass. A spirit with weight and historical soul – made for collectors and enthusiasts looking for depth and intensity.

The story of A.H. Riise

Albert Heinrich Riise was a Danish pharmacist who settled in Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas in 1838. Here he ran a pharmacy and produced bitters and spirits, which were originally used for medicinal purposes. His products quickly gained popularity and in 1893, the old A.H. Riise company was internationally recognized at the Chicago World’s Fair.

A.H. Riise developed well-known brands such as the “Old St. Croix Brand” and Riise’s Guava Rum. For his work, he was awarded several honorary posts on St. Thomas, served as director of the National Bank of St. Thomas, and in 1860 was named a Knight of the Dannebrog and honored with the Swedish Order of Vasa. Today, the legacy lives on through the A.H. Riise series, which continues to celebrate West Indian history and Danish tradition.
