Almirante Oloroso Sherry 15 Years Solera – Elegant and deep Oloroso from Jerez

Almirante Oloroso Sherry 15 Year Old Solera is a classic sherry with great depth and character. It comes from the famous sherry region of Jerez in southern Spain. Here, for generations, some of the world’s most complex and age-worthy fortified wines have been created.

This Oloroso is made for those who love intensity and elegance in the same glass. The long aging gives a wine with great concentration, roundness and an impressive aromatic depth. The result is a sherry that can be enjoyed on its own or with food.

The wine is aged for a full 15 years in the traditional solera system. Here the wine is gradually moved through several levels of barrels. The system consists of one solera and five criaderas. This method ensures stable quality and a harmonious balance between age and freshness.

Oloroso develops without flor during aging. Therefore, the wine matures through slow oxidation in oak barrels. This results in a fuller and more powerful style. At the same time, the classic aromas of nuts, dried fruit and spices develop.

Serve slightly chilled in a regular wine glass. This gives the aromas room to unfold. It goes perfectly with mature cheeses, tapas, mushroom dishes or hearty meat dishes. It’s also ideal as a quiet after-dinner glass.

Tasting notes
The color is deep mahogany with warm amber tones. The aroma is intense with notes of walnuts, roasted hazelnuts and dried figs. There are also hints of caramel and warm spices. The taste is rich and smooth with great complexity. Nuts, dried fruit and light caramel characterize the whole. The finish is long, warm and elegant.

The history of the house
The history of Marqués del Real Tesoro starts in 1897. The grandson of the first Marquis took over several soleras from the Count of Villacreces. The wines were already well matured. This gave the bodega a strong start and a good reputation. Later, the house became a supplier to the Spanish royal family. In the mid-1980s, the brand became part of the Estévez Group. The group is also behind well-known bodegas such as La Guita and Valdespino. The traditions of Jerez live on today through the historic soleras.
