Cameronbridge 33-Year-Old Campbeltown Single Grain 42.7% Cadenhead’s Original Collection

Cameronbridge 33 Years from Cadenhead’s Original Collection is an impressive Lowland Single Grain Whisky that demonstrates just how elegant and complex grain whisky can become after more than three decades of aging. It is a rare release for the discerning whiskey lover, where time, patience, and high-quality casks have created an exceptionally smooth and refined whiskey.

The whisky was distilled in 1992 and bottled in June 2026 after 33 years of aging in bourbon hogsheads. With an alcohol content of 42.7%, it is silky smooth and harmonious, with the influence of the cask blending perfectly with the distillate’s elegant character. As always, Cadenhead’s has chosen to bottle the whiskey without chill filtration and without added color, so the experience is exactly as the casks have crafted it.

The long aging has developed remarkable depth. Fruity notes have been rounded out by vanilla, honey, and ripe oak tones, while the bourbon casks add a creamy sweetness and a beautiful balance. The result is a whisky with plenty of finesse that demonstrates why old grain whiskies are today considered among Scotland’s best-kept secrets.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Elegant aromas of vanilla, acacia honey, ripe pears, and cream caramel. These are complemented by toasted almonds, soft oak notes, a hint of coconut, and light toffee.

Palate: Silky smooth and full-bodied with notes of caramel, vanilla cream, buttered caramel, and ripe stone fruits. Subtle spices, light oak, and a discreet hint of nutmeg add extra complexity.

Finish: Long, rounded, and elegant. The sweetness lingers with notes of nougat, toasted nuts, vanilla, and gentle oak, slowly fading into a warm and harmonious finish.

The House’s History

Cadenhead’s was founded in 1842 and is Scotland’s oldest independent whisky bottler. Over generations, the house has built an unparalleled reputation for selecting particularly characterful casks and bottling them with respect for the distillery’s original style. The Original Collection series offers whisky lovers the opportunity to experience classic Scottish distilleries in their most authentic form.

Cameronbridge Distillery in Fife was founded in 1824 and is considered a pioneer in modern column distillation. Today, the distillery is one of Scotland’s largest producers of grain whisky, but well-aged single grain bottlings like this one remain rare. After 33 years of aging, the whisky achieves a complexity, depth, and elegance that very few grain whiskies can match.
