Taylor’s 30 year Tawny Port – Iconic 30 year Tawny from Douro

Taylor’s 30 year Tawny Port is a rare and refined port from one of the Douro Valley’s most traditional houses. Few producers make a true 30 year old Tawny Port, and Taylor’s is among the absolute specialists. Here you get the essence of three decades of barrel aging – a port with deep complexity, silky smooth structure and sublime balance.

The selected red wines come primarily from the eastern, warmer parts of the Douro Valley, where the grapes achieve concentration, structure and power. After fermentation, the wines are aged in well-used oak barrels in Taylor’s cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. The cool and humid coastal climate ensures a slow and gentle maturation that develops an exceptional aromatic finesse.

Only every two or three years, a reserve of Port wines with enough structure and fruit to mature for three decades is selected. After 30 years of aging, the barrels that have reached their optimal maturity are blended to create a harmonious and consistent style. The result is a 30-year Tawny with depth, elegance and longevity.

Tasting notes

Color: Deep amber with mahogany nuances and a golden hue.

Aroma: Intense and complex with notes of dried figs, raisins and dates, combined with roasted nuts, orange peel and a hint of spice.

Flavor: Silky and concentrated with layers of caramel, dark chocolate and dried cherries. The ripe fruit and fine acidity balance the sweetness and provide an elegant structure.

Finish: Very long and refined with persistent nut and caramel notes and a discreet dry finish.

Serving suggestions

Serve slightly chilled at 12-16°C. Ideal with nut and caramel desserts, crème brûlée, dry pastries or aged cheeses. Also excellent on its own as a meditative end to a fine dinner.
