Taylor’s Vintage Port 1983 – Fashionable classic in top form

Taylor’s Vintage 1983 is a shining testament to the quality and ageing potential of the house – a vintage that is well above average and today appears beautifully mature.

In the glass, 1983 shows a slightly brownish, brick-colored rim, indicating maturity without in any way having “gone over”. It has reached the point where fruit, barrel and age blend harmoniously. The aroma is classic mature Vintage Port – and it’s simply a pleasure. A wealth of spices, ripe berries and tertiary nuances burst from the glass.

The aroma is nothing short of amazing. Spices, ripe dark berries and delicate notes of dried fruit create a complex and inviting bouquet. The taste follows the aroma beautifully – soft, rounded and harmonious. A pleasant, almost velvety sensation spreads in the mouth as the ripe fruit and spicy notes unfold elegantly. In our opinion, this Taylor’s 1983 is perfectly matured and is an excellent example of what a classic Vintage Port can achieve when time has done its work.

We recommend decanting the wine about 2 hours before serving and enjoying it at around 15 degrees. Serve it with blue cheese, dark chocolate or simply as a meditation wine in good company. Taylor’s Vintage 1983 shows its absolute best side here.
