Castello Banfi Vigna Marrucheto Brunello di Montalcino 2017

Castello Banfi Vigna Marrucheto Brunello di Montalcino 2017 is an exclusive and terroir-driven Brunello from the heart of Tuscany. The wine is made from 100% Sangiovese and comes from the prestigious Vigna Marrucheto vineyard. It combines classic Brunello character with modern precision and great elegance.

Vigna Marrucheto is a specially selected plot at Castello Banfi. It was planted in 2009 and the first vintage of this wine was released in 2016. The terroir produces grapes with intense concentration, structure and aromatic finesse. The result is a Brunello with depth, complexity and impressive ageing potential.

After harvest, the grapes are gently vinified to preserve the grape character. The wine is then aged for 30 months in French oak barrels. This is followed by further bottle aging before the wine is released to the market. The long maturation gives the wine a silky smooth structure, elegant tannins and a great balance between fruit, spice and barrel.

Castello Banfi Vigna Marrucheto Brunello di Montalcino 2017 is a wine for great moments. It pairs perfectly with hearty dishes such as beef, game, braised dishes and mature cheeses. It is also a wine that develops beautifully in the cellar over many years.
