Castello Romitorio Brunello di Montalcino 2017

Castello Romitorio Brunello di Montalcino 2017 is the flagship from the renowned wine house Castello Romitorio in Tuscany. This is a classic Brunello with depth, elegance and great complexity. The wine is made from 100% Sangiovese from the house’s own vineyards in the northwestern part of Montalcino, an area known for creating Brunello wines with structure, freshness and ageing potential.

The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected to ensure high quality. They are sorted both before and after destemming so that only the best grapes are used in production. This careful selection helps create a wine with precision, purity and great aromatic depth.

After vinification, the wine is aged for 24 months in oak barrels. This is followed by a further 12 months of bottle ageing before the wine is released. The long maturation gives the wine a great balance between fruit, structure and elegant tannins. The result is a Brunello with classic character and great finesse.

Castello Romitorio Brunello di Montalcino 2017 is a wine that can be enjoyed now and stored for many years. It is ideal with beef, game, lamb and mature cheeses. At the same time, it is a wine that provides a great experience in the glass alone.

History of the house – Castello Romitorio

Since 1984,Castello Romitorio has been dedicated to exploring and refining Brunello di Montalcino. Behind the project is the Italian artist Sandro Chia together with Brunello expert and cellar master Franco Martini. The collaboration between art and wine has been a central part of the house’s identity.

Today, the winery is passed on to the next generation. Sandro Chia’s son Filippo Chia works closely with Stefano Martini, son of Franco Martini. Together they continue to work with respect for the nature, history and traditions of the area.

Castello Romitorio is more than a winery. The castle and cellar also serve as an artistic space. It houses several of Sandro Chia’s works and is used for wine production, creative work and experimentation with new ideas. The combination of art, terroir and craftsmanship makes Castello Romitorio a unique name in Brunello di Montalcino.
