Château Pontet-Canet Pauillac 5th Cru 1985 – Bordeaux in World Class
A wine experience beyond the ordinary

Discover Château Pontet-Canet 1985 – a wine that combines power and elegance. This Pauillac Bordeaux is perfect for collectors and wine enthusiasts seeking a unique tasting experience.

Tasting Notes

The wine presents dark berries, blackcurrant, and plum with a hint of cherry. With age, it has developed freshness and balance. Notes of cedar, tobacco, and delicate spices now emerge. The mouthfeel is silky and refined, almost Burgundian. The finish is long and elegant.

Grapes and Vinification

Château Pontet-Canet 1985 consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, with a small amount of Petit Verdot. The wine is biodynamically cultivated and aged for 16–20 months. Two-thirds mature in oak barrels, with a maximum of one-third being new. The remaining third is aged in specially designed amphorae. This process achieves a perfect balance between power and finesse.

The History of the Estate

Château Pontet-Canet has had only three owners since its founding in the early 1600s. The estate was established by Jean-François de Pontet and later expanded with parcels from Canet. Classified as a 5th Growth in 1855, it was purchased in 1975 by the Tesseron family. Today, the winery is led by Alfred and Gérard Tesseron. They have modernized production and elevated the wine to the top tier of Bordeaux’s great wines.

Why Choose Pontet-Canet 1985?

This is not just wine – it is history, passion, and craftsmanship in a bottle. Perfect for special occasions or as an investment for the wine connoisseur.
