Château Rauzan-Gassies 2015 is a classified 2nd Cru Classé from Margaux and a vintage that shows the full potential of the château. With fields located side by side with Château Margaux itself, the terroir speaks for itself. Here you get classic Bordeaux with structure, finesse and ageing power.

2015 was an excellent vintage in Bordeaux. Sunny growing seasons and ideal harvest conditions produced grapes with perfect ripeness and concentration. The result is a wine with deep fruit, silky tannins and the characteristic Margaux elegance.

Château Rauzan-Gassies has undergone extensive modernization over the years. Investments in the cellar, temperature-controlled steel tanks and parcel-based vinification have significantly improved quality. Each parcel is vinified separately to bring out the nuances of the terroir. Aging in French oak barrels adds complexity and structure.

This is a wine that deserves a great steak, lamb or game. It can be enjoyed now after oxygenation, but will develop beautifully over the next 15-20 years.

Tasting notes

Color: Deep ruby red with a dark core.
Aroma: Blackcurrant, black cherry and plums. Notes of cedar, tobacco and light graphite.
Flavor: Full-bodied and structured with ripe dark fruit, fine tannins and great balance.
Aftertaste: Long and elegant with persistent fruit and subtle barrel notes.

Château Rauzan-Gassies is classified as 2nd Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. The château is located in Margaux and has excellent gravel and calcareous soils. The location provides optimal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Over the years, both the vineyards and cellars have been modernized with a focus on quality and precision. Today, the chateau is once again a classic Margaux chateau, restored in respect of the original plans from 1904. The combination of historical heritage and modern vinification ensures wines with character, structure and classic Bordeaux elegance.
