Closson Chase Vineyard Pinot Noir 2024 – an elegant red wine from Canada
Closson Chase Vineyard Pinot Noir 2024 is a seductive Canadian red wine with elegance, juicy fruit, and fantastic freshness. The wine comes from Prince Edward County in Ontario, where the cool climate produces Pinot Noir with finesse and character.
Here, ripe cherries, fresh raspberries, and delicate floral aromas blend with subtle earthy notes. The result is a silky-smooth and harmonious Pinot Noir that will delight anyone who loves elegant, Burgundian-style red wines.
Pinot Noir from Prince Edward County
The 2024 vintage was cooler than the previous two years. This has produced a particularly fresh and aromatic Pinot Noir with a beautiful balance between fruit and acidity.
The grapes come exclusively from Closson Chase’s own vineyards: 75% from Churchside Vineyard and 25% from South Clos Vineyard.
The wine is fermented in oak barrels, less than 10% of which are new. This imparts an elegant oak influence that supports the fruit without overpowering it.
Only 550 cases were produced. An exciting Canadian Pinot Noir that showcases the great potential of Prince Edward County.
Tasting Notes – Silky-smooth and elegant
Nose: Inviting aromas of red cherries, raspberries, and fresh flowers. Subtle hints of forest floor and delicate spices add extra complexity.
Palate: Juicy and elegant with ripe red berries, soft tannins, and lively acidity. The rounded structure provides a lovely balance and a long, fresh finish.
Serving: Enjoy the wine at 14–16 degrees. It pairs excellently with duck breast, pork tenderloin, salmon, mushroom risotto, and mild cheeses. It’s also a lovely red wine to enjoy on its own.
Closson Chase – Canadian winemaking since 1998
Closson Chase was founded in 1998 and was among the pioneers of quality wine in Prince Edward County on Lake Ontario.
The first grapevines were planted in 1999. The winery is housed in a historic purple barn that has become a landmark of the area.
Closson Chase has particularly made a name for itself with its Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The inspiration comes from Burgundy, but the wines have their very own Canadian character.
With respect for nature and the region’s unique climate, the winery crafts elegant wines that emphasize freshness, balance, and the natural character of the grapes.
