Il Marroneto Brunello di Montalcino 2011 – Classic Tuscan elegance from one of the area’s most respected producers

Il Marroneto Brunello di Montalcino 2011 is the epitome of traditional Brunello – a wine created with respect for craftsmanship, terroir and the expression of the pure Sangiovese grape. This is an authentic wine experience from the heart of Montalcino, where elegance, finesse and balance are paramount.

Il Marroneto is one of the most recognized producers in the area and known for their uncompromising approach to quality. This 2011 vintage is a beautiful example of the house style – more refined and classic than many modern Brunellos, focusing on structure, acidity and complexity rather than sheer power.

In the glass, the wine has a clear, brick-red color, indicative of incipient maturity. The nose opens with notes of dried cherries, roses, leather, tobacco and a hint of forest floor. The taste is elegant and well-balanced with fine tannins, fresh acidity and a complex aromatic profile that develops beautifully in the glass.

This is a Brunello that is already drinking great now, but still has several good years ahead of it. Perfect with classic Italian dishes, game, mushroom dishes or aged cheeses.

About the producer

Il Marroneto is a family-owned winery in Montalcino, founded in the 1970s and today run by Alessandro Mori. The house has achieved cult status among Brunello enthusiasts for its traditional style, where the Sangiovese grape is allowed to speak pure and undisturbed. Aged in large Slavonian barrels, the wines develop a unique elegance that sets them apart from more modern interpretations of Brunello di Montalcino.
