Jean Fillioux 1964 Grande Champagne 1er Cru de Cognac 44

A rare vintage cognac from the heart of Grande Champagne – created for the discerning collector and the true cognac enthusiast. Jean Fillioux 1964 is distilled in one of the most iconic areas of Cognac and bottled in April 2022 in just 220 bottles. You’re not just getting a cognac – you’re getting a piece of liquid history from the Premier Cru de Cognac.

The grapes come from Grande Champagne, which is recognized as the finest cru in the entire Cognac region. The chalky soil provides exceptional finesse, elegance and ageing potential. After distillation, this eau-de-vie has rested for decades in French oak barrels, where it has slowly developed a deep, silky complexity and exceptional balance.

At 44%, the cognac is both powerful and refined – a rare combination of intensity and elegance. Bottled in 500 ml bottles and produced in very limited quantities, this is an exclusive opportunity to secure a true vintage cognac from 1964.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Complex and deep with notes of dried fruit, orange peel, roasted nuts, cedar and fine spices.

Taste: Silky and harmonious with layers of candied fruit, honey, tobacco, dark caramel and elegant cask character.

Finish: Very long and persistent with spicy warmth, noble wood character and a beautiful, rounded sweetness.

House of Jean Fillioux – Domaine de La Pouyade

In the world of cognac, Jean Fillioux is a name to know. Located in Juillac-Le-Coq, Domaine de La Pouyade covers more than 60 hectares in the very heart of Grande Champagne. It produces eau-de-vie of rare finesse, recognized for its balance and enormous ageing potential.

Today, the estate is owned by Christophe J. Fillioux, the fifth generation after founder Honoré Fillioux. Together with his father Pascal, he carries on the family legacy with uncompromising quality and deep respect for tradition. The result is cognac with complexity, elegance and a structure that can develop beautifully through very long barrel aging.
