This exclusive bottling comes from the house’s private collection and represents the best of the Premier Cru Grande Champagne region. This is a mature and complex cognac where time, craftsmanship and terroir come together.

The grapes for this cognac were harvested in 1996. After distillation, the eaux-de-vie was aged in French oak barrels of second fill. The maturation took place in a temperate cellar at the house of Jean Fillioux. The slow maturation results in a cognac with great finesse, depth and impressive aromatic complexity.

Vintage cognacs from Grande Champagne are known for their elegance and long ageing potential. This particular 1996 bottling clearly shows why the area is considered the finest terroir in Cognac. In the Cognac world, Jean Fillioux is a name to know. The family owns Domaine de La Pouyade in Juillac-le-Coq. The property comprises more than 60 hectares of vineyards in the heart of Grande Champagne. The area is considered the finest terroir in Cognac. It produces eaux-de-vie with great finesse and balance.

Today, the house is run by Christophe J. Fillioux. He is the fifth generation of the family. Tradition, experience and respect for craftsmanship still characterize the production. The result is cognacs that are among the most elegant in the Premier Cru Cognac appellation.
