The history of the house

Lakrids by Bülow was founded in 2007 when Johan Bülow decided to give licorice the same respect and quality that is known from the world of wine and gastronomy. It all began on Bornholm in a small licorice kitchen – and quickly evolved into a brand that redefined Nordic confectionery.

With a focus on craftsmanship, natural ingredients and constant innovation, Lakrids by Bülow has achieved international recognition. Production is still anchored in Denmark, and the ambition is the same today as it was in the beginning: to create unique taste experiences that bring people together – especially when the winter coziness calls.
