Mil Pesetas Oloroso Sherry – Classic dry and aromatic Oloroso from Jerez

Mil Pesetas Oloroso Sherry is a classic and powerful sherry from Andalusia in southern Spain. This style is known for its depth, warmth and intense aroma. Oloroso directly translates to “aromatic” and its rich aroma and full-bodied taste make this sherry a favorite among connoisseurs.

The wine is aged for many years in oak barrels in the traditional solera system. During aging, the wine develops slowly through oxidation. It is aged without flor, giving a more powerful and concentrated style than the lighter sherries.

Aging takes place in the house’s San Guillermo cellar. Here the wine matures quietly over the years. The long contact with the barrel and oxygen produces a complex and harmonious wine. At the same time, it develops its characteristic dark amber color and deep nut aromas.

Mil Pesetas Oloroso is a pure and unsweetened sherry. It is therefore completely dry on the palate, but still round and generous. It is perfect with tapas, mature cheeses, nuts or hearty dishes with mushrooms and game. It can also be enjoyed on its own as a classic glass of sherry.

Tasting notes
The color is dark amber with mahogany nuances. The aroma is intense and aromatic with notes of walnuts, roasted almonds and dried fruit. There are also hints of caramel and spices from the barrel aging. The taste is dry, rich and deep with great complexity. The aftertaste is long, warm and elegant with distinct nut notes.
