Nyborg Distillery Peated Organic Single Malt 48% – Isle of Fionia

A Danish single malt with smoke, soul, and adventure

Travel to Funen – the island where Danish whisky finds its soul. From Nyborg Distillery comes this Peated Organic Single Malt. An organic whisky with a hint of smoke, crafted with passion, curiosity, and love for the craft.
The whisky, called Ardor – Isle of Fionia, is a symbol of zeal and dedication. It is made by people who live for the process, not the goal. Every drop tells the story of Funen, from field to cask.

An organic whisky with character

This whisky is made from Funen barley, grown only a few kilometers from the distillery. The water comes from local springs, providing a natural purity. The whisky is matured in white oak casks, which bring out sweetness, depth, and complexity.
The result is a smoky whisky on the milder side – yet still full of character. It is perfect for both new whisky lovers and experienced enthusiasts who seek finesse over strength.

Tasting notes

  • Nose: Light to medium smoke with sweet notes of Finnish licorice, sea salt, and gentle campfire smoke.

  • Palate: Sweet smoke and licorice meet spicy nuances and ripe fruit. The overall experience is round, balanced, and captivating.

  • Finish: Long, creamy, and lightly smoky, with warm spices and a hint of sea.

A fantastic introduction to peated whisky. It pairs perfectly with winter dishes, dark chocolate, or a quiet moment by the fireplace.

The story of Nyborg Distillery

Nyborg Distillery is located in an old railway workshop by the harbor in Nyborg, where trains were repaired for over 125 years. Today, the historic buildings have been transformed into a modern, organic distillery.
The philosophy is simple: the most beautiful whisky has yet to be created. At Nyborg, it’s about curiosity, sustainability, and love for the local area.
The barley is grown on fields close to the distillery. The casks are made from 150–200-year-old oak trees from Funen, giving the whisky its distinctive depth and character.
