Tequila Ocho is known for its philosophy of highlighting the origin of the agave, just like the terroir of the wine. Each bottling comes from one specific field and one specific harvest. This edition is therefore a pure expression of the soil, climate and craftsmanship behind the production.

The tequila is created by the famous Camarena family, who have been growing and distilling agave in the highlands of Jalisco for generations. The family is known for their uncompromising approach to quality and for producing tequila without any additives.

This special bottling comes from barrel #33 and is aged for 17 months and 2 days in a barrel that previously held American whiskey and several tequila ages. The barrel provides only a subtle influence, allowing the natural character of the agave to stand out.

At 53% strength, the tequila is intense and powerful, yet remarkably balanced and elegant. This makes it an experience that truly showcases the complexity of agave.

The history of the house

Tequila Ocho was created in collaboration between tequila producer Carlos Camarena and spirits entrepreneur Tomas Estes. The vision was to create a tequila that clearly expresses terroir – just like the world of wine.

The Camarena family has been working with agave and tequila for generations and are known for their deep respect for the craft. Production is carried out using traditional methods and a focus on quality over volume. The result is tequilas with great authenticity, complexity and a distinct taste of their origin.
