The Frogman Corps was established in 1957 and is inspired by international elite units such as the British SBS and US Navy SEALs. Maritime special operations have always been at the heart of the Corps’ work. After completing their service, sailors can join the Conventus Ranae – Latin for “a gathering of frogs” – a formal association that strengthens the bond between active and former sailors.

In recent years, A.H. Riise has collaborated with Conventus Ranae, resulting in the iconic Royal Danish Navy Frogman Rum 58% and the anniversary edition Frogman 60% for the Corps’ 60th anniversary in 2017. This new Frogman Conventus Ranae 60% continues the legacy and is close in flavor to the anniversary edition – powerful, concentrated and with plenty of depth.

At 60% alcohol, this is a rum with significant power, but also with balance and complexity. It’s made for the experienced rum lover looking for intensity, warmth and richness.

The history of the house

A.H. Riise traces its roots back to 1838, when pharmacist Albert Heinrich Riise created rum and spirits in the Danish West Indies. Today, the house is known for its powerful, sweet and characterful rum blends that combine Caribbean tradition with Danish history.
