Plantation Extreme No. 4 ITP 20 Year Old Jamaica Long Pond is an uncompromising and deeply characterful rum for the experienced enthusiast. Only 550 bottles have been bottled of this exceptional limited edition, distilled in 2000 at the legendary Long Pond Distillery in Jamaica and bottled in 2020 at a powerful 52.1%.

This rum is created in the iconic John Dore double retort pot still, known for delivering intense, aromatic and complex Jamaican rum with tons of character. The Plantation Extreme series only selects casks that, in their natural form, are so distinctive and unique that they do not require adjustment or blending to achieve balance. They stand alone – raw, powerful and “extreme”.

Aging is a study in terroir and craftsmanship. First, 16 years of tropical aging in bourbon barrels in the warm climate of Jamaica, where the rum develops deep concentration and intensity. Then 4 years of continental aging in Ferrand cognac barrels in France, where it rounds, integrates and adds complexity. The result is a rum of immense depth, structure and finesse.

Tasting notes

Color: Deep amber with dark mahogany nuances.

Aroma: Intense and explosive with notes of tropical fruit, overripe pineapple, banana and mango combined with dark caramel, toasted oak and spicy cask.

Flavor: Powerful and concentrated with layers of dried fruit, molasses, spices and roasted nuts. The long tropical aging adds depth and structure, while the cognac casks add elegance and rounded complexity.

Finish: Very long, warm and full of exotic fruit, spice and dry oak.
