Paul Giraud Héritage is an exceptional 70 years old Premier Cru de Cognac from the most prestigious region of Cognac, Grande Champagne. This is not just an old cognac – it is liquid history. A rare and deeply complex bottling, created for the uncompromising connoisseur who seeks the ultimate in mature Grande Champagne cognac.

This exclusive Héritage is composed of some of the oldest eaux-de-vie that have been hidden in the back of Paul Giraud’s cellar for generations. It is the only cognac in the house’s range that is deliberately blended across vintages. Héritage consists of the 1945, 1946 and 1947 vintages – three historic harvests that together create an incomparable depth and balance.

The grapes come from the family’s own 42 hectares of vineyards around the village of Bouteville in Grande Champagne. The chalky terroir provides structure, elegance and extraordinary ageing potential. The result is a silky, concentrated and extremely long cognac with a complexity that only decades of patient aging can produce.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Intense and refined with notes of dried apricots, candied orange and roasted hazelnuts. Nuances of old oak, cigar box, vanilla and a hint of rancio.

Flavor: Immensely smooth and deep. Layers of dried fruit, honey, dark caramel and fine chocolate. Elegantly spicy with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg and noble wood.

Finish: Very long and persistent. Silky warmth, complex rancio and an almost endless finish.

Paul Giraud is based in Bouteville in the heart of Grande Champagne. The family owns 42 hectares of vineyards and has been producing cognac for generations. The know-how has been passed down from father to son, and today it is the 5th generation that carries on the tradition. The entire production process is fully controlled from grape to bottle. The focus is on quality, patience and respect for the terroir. Héritage is the culmination of this philosophy.
