Planteray Mauritius Vintage Collection 2013 Terravera No.3 is a unique and characterful rum that captures the essence of Mauritius’ wild nature. This limited release was created under the direction of Planteray Rum’s master blender Alexandre Gabriel, who has selected a range of special casks to highlight the island’s terroir and character.

The rum is part of the exclusive Vintage Collection and was distilled in 2013 at the oldest distillery in Mauritius. Here, traditional rum craftsmanship meets the island’s unique climate, where lush jungles, rainforests and rivers create perfect conditions for aging and complex flavor development.

For this edition, Alexandre Gabriel has selected 19 special casks, which together create a deep and nuanced expression. The result is a rum with a clear identity and great aromatic complexity. It is both powerful and elegant with clear traces of the tropical terroir.

Planteray is known for its characteristic double maturation, which is also used here. First, the rum is aged for 9 years in Mauritius in the warm tropical climate. It is then transported by ship to the southwest of France where it matures for a further two years in Ferrand casks.

This method gives the rum both tropical intensity and European finesse. The combination creates a beautiful balance of fruit, spice and depth. The result is a complex rum with great character and a clear signature of Mauritius.
