Taylor’s 40 Year Old Tawny Port is the epitome of luxury, tradition and patience. Aged in wooden casks for a full 40 years, this exceptional Tawny Port is now concentrated to the very essence of four decades of development. The result is a silky, complex and deeply sophisticated port that is only produced in very limited quantities.

Taylors is world-renowned for its legendary Vintage Port, but it is also one of the leading producers of Aged Tawny Port. It is precisely the long barrel ageing in small, spicy oak casks that gives this port its distinctive amber and mahogany color, intense nutty aroma and soft, elegant structure.

After four decades in barrel, the wine is transformed into a masterpiece of balance and concentration. Every drop bears the mark of the fine art of oxidation – where sweetness, acidity and barrel are fused in perfect harmony. This is port for those special moments; for life’s milestones, anniversaries or as the ultimate gift for the port enthusiast.

Tasting notes

  • Aroma: Extremely complex with notes of dried figs, raisins, walnut and almond, accompanied by caramel, toffee, orange peel and fine spices.
  • Flavor: Silky smooth and deeply concentrated with layer upon layer of nuts, dried fruit, brown sugar and spicy oak. An elegant acidity provides freshness and balance.
  • Finish: Very long and persistent with warm, refined notes of caramel and roasted nuts.
