The Chess Malt Collection F8 is an exclusive 24 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Speyside, distilled at Auchroisk in January 1996 and bottled in November 2020. This limited edition is part of the unique Chess Malt Collection – a series where Scottish history and whisky craftsmanship come together in a collectible tribute to the 32 pieces of chess.

Aged in a Bourbon Hogshead for 24 years, this whisky has developed complexity, balance and depth. Only 275 bottles are bottled, not chill-filtered and with no added color. At 48.3% alcohol, it’s intense yet elegant – just like a carefully considered move on the chessboard.

The Chess Malt Collection is a celebration of Scotland’s dramatic history of kings, queens, clans and strategic thinkers. The series consists of 32 bottlings – two kings, two queens, four rooks, four knights, four bishops and sixteen pawns – all in black and white, with a presentation that makes them highly collectible.

Tasting notes

Color: Clear golden with a natural glow from the bourbon barrel.

Aroma: Fresh vanilla, honey and ripe pear. Hints of citrus, coconut and lightly toasted almonds are evidence of long aging in American oak.

Flavor: Rich and balanced with creamy vanilla, caramel and tropical fruit. Notes of white chocolate and slightly spicy oak add structure and finesse.

Finish: Long and elegant with sweet malt, subtle spice and rounded barrel character.
