Versailles 30 Years Small Batch is a monumental rum from Guyana, bottled by Rum Nation in the exclusive Small Batches Rare Rum series. Distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2021 after a full 30 years of aging, this is a powerful and rare release for the experienced rum lover.

Only 348 bottles were released. This makes this rum a true collector’s bottle with age, intensity and historical weight. It is distilled in the traditional Versailles single pot wooden still – known for creating heavy, aromatic and characterful distillates with a distinct personality.

After the long maturation, the rum is given a short finish in a sherry hogshead that previously held Scotch whisky. This adds depth and a subtle vinous character without overpowering the raw and authentic style of the distillate. At 56.8% alcohol, it’s concentrated, complex and uncompromising.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Intense and flamboyant with funky esters, country notes and dark fruit. Hints of sherry and spicy oak.

Taste: Bold and powerful with a distinct pot still character. Layers of dried fruit, spice and dark caramel are balanced by a light vinous note from the sherry cask.

Finish: Long and structured with fine tannins from the oak. The distinctive and slightly unruly style of the distillate still shines through.
