Woodward Canyon Old Vines Cabernet Sauvignon Washington State 2020 – Powerful American Old Vine Cabernet

Woodward Canyon Old Vines Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 is an impressive American red wine from Washington State, made from old vine grapes that deliver a depth and concentration rarely seen in this price range. This is a serious Cabernet Sauvignon with power, elegance and great ageing potential – a wine that clearly shows why Woodward Canyon is considered a pioneer in the Washington wine world.

The grapes for this wine come from carefully selected parcels of older Cabernet Sauvignon vines, where the low yields add concentration and complexity. The warm climate of Washington State combined with cool nights produces grapes with intense fruit, great acidity and a natural balance that makes the wines both powerful and elegant.

In the glass, the wine is deep and dark with great aromatic intensity. The oak aging adds structure and complexity, where fruit, spice and barrel blend together in a classic Cabernet expression. The result is a wine with both power and finesse – perfect for big dinners, red meat or for cellaring for further development.

This is a wine for Cabernet lovers looking for a serious American red with distinct character, great structure and longevity.

About Woodward Canyon Winery

Woodward Canyon Winery is one of the pioneers in Washington State. The story began in 1977 when Rick Small planted the first vines on the family farm, which had previously grown only wheat. In 1981, Woodward Canyon was established as only the second winery in the Walla Walla Valley – long before the area became known as one of America’s most exciting wine regions.

Today, the winery remains a family business, with Rick’s wife and children actively involved in the operation. The fields encompass around 41 acres (16.6 hectares) and there is a huge emphasis on sustainable vineyard practices. All fields are Salmon Safe certified and the winery is committed to organic and biodynamic farming. The combination of four generations of agricultural heritage and a passion for wine has created some of Washington State’s most respected wines.
