Hampden Estate – Pagos Batch 3
Pure Single Jamaican Rum – 52%

Exclusive Rum Experience with Pagos Batch 3
Welcome to a unique tasting experience from Hampden Estate – one of Jamaica’s most iconic distilleries. With an unparalleled combination of high-ester rum and sherry cask aging, Pagos Batch 3 sets new standards for complexity and depth. This exclusive rum is crafted using traditional methods that have been kept secret since the 18th century, resulting in a rich and aromatic profile. Fully Tropical Aging – A Rum with Character This rum is 100% tropically aged, meaning it develops faster and achieves a deeper flavor than rum aged in Europe. In the warm and humid Caribbean climate, evaporation – known as the "angel’s share" – is four times higher than in Europe, concentrating the flavors and providing an intense and full-bodied experience. Innovative Sherry Cask Aging Pagos Batch 3 marks the beginning of a new era in Hampden Estate’s long history. This rum is exclusively aged in 500-liter sherry casks from the most prestigious bodegas in Andalusia, where they previously held high-quality Fundador sherry. The result is a remarkable balance between the powerful and fruity notes of the rum and the sweetness and spices of the sherry casks.

Hampden Pagos is the result of partnerships with two renowned bodegas in Jerez: Lustau and Fundador. Several casks have been transferred from the Andalusian cellars to Hampden Estate, where they have aged the distillery’s rums. The first edition of Pagos was a blend of rums aged in ex-Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks from Lustau. This third batch of Hampden Pagos is a blend of 16 casks from Bodegas Fundador, which previously held Oloroso for up to 30 years, and is filled with Hampden’s signature HLCF mark (Hampden Light Continental Flavoured). This version has an ester content of 374.1 gr/HLPA.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich and complex. The aroma opens with cloves, roasted walnuts, blood orange, apricot kernel, and cherry liqueur. Over time, almonds, dates, and a hint of coffee liqueur emerge.
Palate: Intense and lively. Notes of cane sugar, chestnut honey, and tropical flowers dominate the palate. Subsequent tones of vanilla and cocoa beans add depth, complemented by fine tannins. The aftertaste features notes of camphor and geranium.
Finish: Long and full-bodied. Coconut milk and honeysuckle provide a fresh finish, while nuances of varnish, light tobacco, linden blossom, pepper rose, coriander, and nuts round out the experience.

Hampden Estate – A Legendary History
Founded in 1753, Hampden Estate has been distilling rum for nearly three centuries in Trelawny Parish – an area historically known as the "grand cru" of Jamaican rum. The distillery is world-renowned for its powerful and intense rums, produced using unique methods that ensure remarkable aromas and an unforgettable taste experience. Since 2010, Hampden Estate has aged its rums on-site in the tropical Jamaican climate. The name "Pagos" originates from the Spanish word for vineyards in the Jerez region and reflects the idea of aging Hampden rum exclusively in premium 500-liter sherry casks used in the Solera method. This third edition of Pagos has been aged entirely in Jamaica in casks from Bodegas Fundador.
To highlight the perfect harmony between the complexity of the sherry and Hampden Estate’s high ester content, Pagos is bottled at 52%. A true gem for the discerning rum connoisseur!
