GlenDronach Parliament 21 years old Highland Single Malt Whisky 48%

This incredibly beautiful sherry bomb is named after the collection of roaches that live in the trees near the distillery "Parliament of Rooks". It is a tasty blend of sherry matured whiskey, both Oloroso and PX and thus perfect for sherry lovers. The color is deep, golden and almost tawny-red. In the nose, a certain sweetness is felt from the many years of storage on the sherry casks. The taste buds run in water as the nose approaches the glass. The taste is strong and very sherry. A uniquely persistent long and gentle aftertaste with lots of raisins, walnuts, chocolate and dried fruits. A truly classic sherry-heavy malt whiskey - old-fashioned in the cool way and completely exceptional. The Highland Distillery GlenDronach is one of Scotland's oldest, and it can draw an exciting historical line to the very first licenses issued for legal distillation in the Highlands. Among the founders of Glendronach was James Allardes, who was the protégé of the nobleman directly responsible for the legislation in 1823. GlenDronach was built a few years later in 1825 just outside the town of Huntly. Since then, the distillery has been burnt down, owners have changed countless times and capacity has been expanded. GlenDronach was among the last to set the floor malting and it was the very last Scottish distillery that abolished the direct heating of the boilers with coal. GlenDronach, on the other hand, was among the very first distilleries to market the types of casks used to store whiskey, just as the distillery was among the first to open its doors to the public by establishing a visitor center on the distillery grounds in 1973.
