Antinori Tenuta Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018

Antinori Tenuta Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino 2018 is a classic and elegant Brunello from one of Tuscany’s most prestigious wine regions. The wine is the Antinori family’s personal interpretation of Brunello di Montalcino – a wine that combines tradition, finesse and great ageability. The result is a wine with deep complexity, great structure and an authentic Tuscan character.

Tenuta Pian delle Vigne is located about six kilometers southwest of Montalcino and covers a total of 184 hectares of land. Of these, approximately 65 hectares are planted with vineyards. The vineyards are located around 130 meters above sea level on southwest-facing slopes where the warmth of the sun and the cool breezes from the area create ideal conditions for the Sangiovese grape.

The Antinori family took over the property in 1995, the same year the first Brunello Pian delle Vigne was produced. The philosophy behind the wine is to emphasize the pure character of the Sangiovese grape. Therefore, the wine is aged primarily in large oak barrels, which preserve the natural elegance, freshness and aromatic complexity of the grape.

The 2018 vintage produces a Brunello with a beautiful balance of fruit, structure and finesse. The wine can be enjoyed now after oxygenation, but also has significant ageing potential. It pairs perfectly with classic Italian dishes, grilled meats, game and aged cheeses.
